Server protecion - mauri - 26.09.2008

Hello everybody,

Im a big fan of your mods, but have a problem with the circumstance that almost everybody has the possibility to work with the sfs files.

As I am a expierenced pilot, I can see if anybody is cheating in this game.
Im very frustrated about the fact that this happens frequently Sad

Did anybody think about a cheatprotecion ? Is there some work in progress, so that there will be possible to fly with a mod online without the cheaters ? SO that anyone who joins the server has the same mod without the possibility to change it for his advantage ?

CRT isnt a big protecion as there are mods with which you can join a server which doesnt allow mods.

I think this would be a very large step for the community and all the moders so that the people wouldnt see it anymore as a hack.

with regards

Mauri

sorry for my bad english[/quote]

Hi Mauri
(QL?)

It is a good thing that many people have the possibility to work on a modification of this simulation. We found out that many new modifications can be heavily provided by individual person. You have to work in teams. And if everybody is able to work with the SFS files you can make more teams and more good mods.

On the other handside there will be some black cheaps who only want to make a mod to have an advantage online. Those diaper blower are not welcome in this community.

There are only two possibilities to delete this cheater problem. You go on a server with original game version and check runtime 2 or you stay together, work in team and you release a big mod pack for everyone. So every mod lover has the same mod version and you can make a check runtime 2 proofed mod server and no cheater can use his black mods.

There is a unified mod installer. It is a mod patch with historical modifications (cockpits, maps, new aircrafts, new sound etc.) Here is the link:

In the mean time there are no servers where this mod patch is runnig (protected with crt 2). I hope that there will be some servers in the near future.

hello waggel Smile

Im sorry but you are wrong crt2 isnt a protecion at all. As I said although running crt2 there are a lot of people using mods online on this servers.

Thats whatfor I ask the members of this community to think abou a better protecion of this game.
Maybe creating a antcheattool for IL2.

I want to see a prove of this. I don't know any server with CRT=2 enabled with this problem. How can you be so sure?

I don't believe it.

Somewhat related, I hope. I discovered that if you are using the Unified Installer mod pack and host a 4.08m co-op (using the version switcher supplied with Unified Installer), mod-enabled folks can join your mission. Even though the version the host is using is 4.08m standard.

Here's what happened: I hosted a mission using Fw-190's for a navigation exercise. I ensured only the 190's were human flyable, but there were a few Yak-9's and Tu-2's in the mission as a distraction for the humans doing their navigation exercise. One pilot joined who had not yet switched back to 4.08m from a modded version (not sure which). That pilot saw only gunner seats for the Tu-2's in the aircraft selection area. He re-joined after switching back to 4.08m and was able to see/select/fly a 190. I had "crt=2" set (for what good it does), but was amazed that a modded player was able to join anyway.

I tried hosting the same mission under a clean 4.08m (no mods, no Unified Installer, box stock) and with crt=2 set. A mod-enabled player was quickly booted from my server. This tells me that using the Unified Installer and having switched to 4.08m there is still a 'back door' for modded players to join. This is most disconcerting to me...

@ Wilhelm,

If you are above a 109 F4 about 2000 Meter, and the 109 is turning very hard with a Spit Vb about 100 Meter high and managed to turn the spit out and you go downto catch the 109 and your Speed is about 620 km and then the 109 flies away from you in a level flight, then you know something is wrong.

If there was a option in hyperlobby that pilots could choose what version of il2 they are using?
Different colors in pilot names could then show the host what kind of pilots there are coming to his mission.
