how to unzip zipped folders? - KG64_Ðørvånski - 29.09.2008
hello all! i downloaded the bloodgore mod. the readme says to unzip the mod into the mods folder. how do i do this? also how do i change the confi.ini? is it possible to fly he-111z? thanks!

to unzip zipped files you need a program such as winzip or winrar (available in the download section of this site) i use winrar and have no issues with it. after installing the unzipping program select the file to unzip with right click. a menu box will appear. select option "unzip files to this location" or similar option. enter the file path to the mods folder in your il-2 folder and unzip. the config.ini file is in the il-2 installation folder, it is called config. it allows you to change resolution, detail levels etc. example of a entry in the config file:
water=3
this option can have a value of 0,1,2,3,4 each ascending level increasing the level of detail for water in the game. there are other options but not all of them can have values as high as 4 for instance "viewable distance" or "land geometry" only go to 3 maximum. hope this is useful

how do i access the config? and if the bloodgore is in the mods folder and doesnt have a zipper, does that mean it is unzipped? i downloaded winrar and used it for the bloodgore2 mod, but do i extract, or add, or what? thanks for your help and time!

to access config open the il-2 folder and look for txt file conf. when opened it looks like word file. you have to use extract to unzip the mod into the mod file in the il-2 folder. the filepath should look like this: il-2 1946/mods/bloodgore/3do or something similar. ensure that your filepath is like this
