Campaign for Fabianfreds Thailand Map - Poltava - 30.09.2008

After the Burma road was cut, the Allied started resupplying China by an aerial route over the Himalyas. In mid October 1943 the Japanese Sentai 50 started "Operation Tsuzigiri", targeting these transports. ("Tsuzigiri" is japanese for "Street murder", if I understand it correctly.)

I have made a semi-historical , 6-mission static campaign, set during October 1943. You are a pilot in Sentai 50, a JAAF Fighter squqdron equipped with the Ki-43 II. The missions are mainly fighters sweeps, but a couple of surprises has also been added to the mix.

The campaign uses Fabianfreds excellent Thailand/East Burma/Indochina map!

The map in question can be found on this site, in the map downloads section, and is also dedicated to him: thanks for your great work!

A historical detail: although Sentai 50 used an airstrip that is off-map in this operation, to the north, this map still fits the bill very well, using one of the airfields up north, close to the mountains.

Help with error message - OPERATION TSUZIGIRI - jfloren - 30.09.2008

OPERATION TSUZIGIRI

Start Campaighn all works... until end of mission load:

Hmmm, I haven't got a clue. I guess it's connected to all the new structures etc that comes with the map in question. Can you load Fabianfreds Thailand map in FMB?

- jfloren - 30.09.2008

Yes, loads in FMB no problem.

- fabianfred - 30.09.2008

maybe ...the paratrooper problem is connected to the DC-3's in the mission???
try making their loadout empty....I presume you have loaded them with paratroopos....i haven't downloaded this yet?

- fabianfred - 30.09.2008

cannot find this at m4T please give a link

- Poltava - 01.10.2008

Look at the "Specialised downloads" section. It's not allowed to post a link here, only approved Filefront links - haven't got the OK yet.

I will check the load-outs for the C-47's.

First of all, thank you for this nice campaign!
All works fine, I can watch the intro and fly the missions one after one. But when I end playing and want to continue the campaign the missions I was flown are gone and I must begin with the intro and the first mission.
I've played mission 1 + 2 in one sortie but there are no saving. I must always start at the beginning.
Is there a solution to solve this problem?

- Poltava - 01.10.2008

Strange!!! I haven't had that problem myself, so I don't know what it is or how to fix it. The missions are pretty straight-forward stuff. I've built many missions through the years, and did many errors Smile but I've never had that glitch before.

Somebody else that knows?

- fabianfred - 01.10.2008

I have downloaded this and flown the first mission..... nice work..... and good attention to detail...placing ships and villages etc. along the route of the flight to bring it to life a bit...

I know with very large maps such as the zip Alpen one...several people have had it hang when trying to press the button to leave the end of mission screen .... and I think this is quite a large map too....memory wise, so that may be causing people to exit the mission without it saving...(just thinking out loud)
Sometimes when I have played a big mission from the FMB and at mission end it automatically takes you back to the FMB...but I have had it hang there and not load into the FMB....having to exit the game

- King Franky - 01.10.2008

Hm, strange thing, indeed.
I've downloaded and installed your version 1.1 but the problem still exists.
I hope the problem has nothing to do with the large scale of the map...

- Luke5skywalker4 - 01.10.2008

The campaign works for me. You need to make sure you have all the objects for the map to run correctly. The Thailand map requires also objects from CanonUK's Battle of Britain map (which comes with Canon's installer for the map) and LAL RONE's Hanger mod.

- Poltava - 02.10.2008

Yes, you must of course have these two extra object packs to get the map running. One test is to try loading the map in FMB. If it loads then you have all the necessary new objects.

- karstele - 02.10.2008

Thanks to both of you . . .

FabianFred for a wonderful map !

And to you Poltava for the first Campaign using it.

Well done - and great fun

Karsten

Hi guys,

As far as I am concerned, everything went all right.
I just completed the two first missions without any troubles.
Sounds very strange... Never heard of this kind of things before...

Anyway, very nice campaign, as usual!
Many thanks Peter!
