Darwin Defenders posted now! - Poltava - 04.10.2008
Now the first playtest results have come in and applied, and the Campaign is posted and available for download! It can be found in the specialised downloads section on M4T:

The date is March 1942. You are a fighter pilot in the US 49th Fighter Group, rushed to Darwin, to defend the area against the sustained air-offensive that the Japanese have launched against the northern coast of Australia. (Up until this date there has been no Allied air assets in the area, and no Australian air units are yet available.)
This is a semi-historical, 16-mission static campaign, set during the spring and summer of 1942. You are a USAAF fighter pilot flying the P-40 during the so called
"Australian Blitz", when northern Australia was under heavy attack from Japanese air units. Most mission that takes place, happens on the correct dates and tries to follow history.
Between February 1942 and November 1943, during the Pacific War, the Australian mainland, domestic airspace, offshore islands and coastal shipping were attacked at least 97 times by aircraft from the Imperial Japanese Navy and Imperial Japanese Army Air Force. These attacks came in various forms, from large scale raids by heavy bombers, to torpedo attacks on ships, to strafing runs by fighter planes.

Whenever a see a new, fine map I want to build a campaign for it.
But I'm kind of hooked on historical campaigns - I will take a look at the Falklands map, see what can be done! Your extended Pacific Island map I must do somethin with, of course!

Wonderful Poltava!
I've begun your new campaign, played the first two missions and everything works fine.
And I'm sitting here again, with that smile on my face...

Well done.. 5th mission in!
One problem though was after seeing a Catalina in trouble off the coast I rushed to assist, and as I circled overhead he forced landed and spun into the water and his wings broke off in a spectacular fashion!.. unfortunately, the effect was then totaly spoiled as the fuselage section just continued to bounce and cartwheel all over the sea instead of sinking below the waves.
Not sure if it was a map problem or the Catalina itself, but in any other campaign mission that the Cat is in, if it gets hit and crashes into the sea the debri just sinks..
Apart from that, (and probably out of your control) its great!

ColaBen,
I had the same error. So I went into the Full Mission Builder and brought up Mission 01 for the Darwin Defenders. Then I found the P-40E's I was supposed to fly in the object viewer and went to plane 1 and checked Player in the check box.
It now works and the follow up Missions work also. I checked Plane 1, but I go in the last plane because I picked 1st LT as my rank. But anyhow it works and it's a complete mystery to me....LOL
Best regards,
rustydawg.
PS.... Paltava, Great Campaign, I'm enjoying it.
