A QMPplus mission question - jlan5031 - 06.10.2008

I downloaded the new Darwin map and put it into QMB, as well as FMB. When I try to open it I get the following error window: "Mission loading failed: Landscape 'Darwin/load.ini' loading error. I've checked all the files I can think of and, the Discussion topics without success. What am I missing?

correct path for this map's load.ini is: NTL_Darwin_Small/NTL_Darwin_Small_load.ini

check your folders and also path for map in mission files

QMB plu mission problem - jlan5031 - 06.10.2008

Thanks for your quick response.
Given the fact that I often fail to solve these kinds of questions through plain ignorance, this is what I've done: 1. In the map mods folder, I've checked the "NTL_Darwin_Small "folder the ".ini" file reads,
"NTL_Darwin_Small_load.ini"
2. In the "Mission/QuickI file, I can see both "NTL_Darwin_SmallBlueNone00.mis" and
"NTL_Darwin_SmallRed00.mis."
3. I also copied and pasted these two files to MODS\ QMBPlus 1.1\files\ Missions\Quick.
I don't know what else to do.

you need to open mission file itself ( notepad) and check path for map :

example from mission file :

[MAIN]
MAP fly_zo_BOB/fly_Z_normA_load.ini
TIME 12.0
CloudType 0
CloudHeight 1000.0
player g0100
army 2
playerNum 0

QMBplus mission problem - jlan5031 - 07.10.2008

Thanks again for answering. At first I didn't quite understand what you meant. I thought about it overnight. Today, I opened the Darwin-Philippines mission download and looked in the file "DarwinBlueNone.mis." It read "MAP Darwin/load.ini." I think that's incorrect. I think it should read "MAP NTL_Darwin_Small/load.ini." I thought I'd change it and see, but though I can insert the cursor where I want it, it doesn't allow me to change, or insert, anything. Then I tried unzipping to my desktop to access the file, but at that point, I cant even get into the file. Am I right? What can I do to make the required changes.

yes you're right .... extract that zip to temp folder ..... open mis files with notepad and enter right path ( check file properties and unhook read only if checked ).

Other solution would be to rename map files to match path from mission files .... i wouldn't recommend it cos of possible updates of that fantastic map .

QMBplus mission problem - jlan5031 - 07.10.2008

I thought we'd done it that time, but alas.... I extracted into a Temp file. I was able to open the mission files and changed the "MAP Darwin..." to "MAP NTL_...." When I opened the game/QMB/NTL_Darwin_Small/None program I got "Wrong Target Selected." So than I went back out, checked the "Quick" missions, found the NTL mission, none mission file titles still read "Darwin...," though they now read correctly inside the files. So then I renamed the Darwin files to reflect the NTL title. Now, as far as I knew, everything followed the NTL version. However, when I attempted the QMB again, my old nemesis "Mission Loading failed: Landscape/'Darwin/load.ini' loading error.
I vaguely recall, I had to do some other adding somewhere, perhaps in the mapmods folder or a ru.properties. I can't remember. At present, I've installed the NTL map, added it to the conf.ini file. changed the titled of the Darwin mission "None" files(inside and out). Have I left something out?
Have to confess, I've never had so much trouble before. Any ideas?

one more thing make sure that map name specified in conf.ini ( under quicks) has same name as mission file ( first part)

so if your mission has name:

DarwinRedNone00.mis

in conf.ini must be:

[quick]
Custom0=fly_Z_Britain
Custom1=fly_Z_Britain_Autumn
Custom2=Bessarabia
Custom3=Net5Summer
Custom4=Guadalcanal
Custom5=NWEurope
Custom6=Murmansk_Winter
Custom7=MTO
Custom8=Midway
Custom9=The_Slot_1-44
Custom10=Darwin

other that that i have no other idea ....

That didn't work either. I'm giving up for awhile, The map works in FMB as does the Darwin campaign, so I'll be satisfied. Thanks again for all your help

In the mission file it should read:
"MAP NTL_Darwin_Small/NTL_Darwin_Small_load.ini" not "MAP NTL_Darwin_Small/load.ini"
