[VIDEO] Real-life FW190D9 Startup - goshikisen - 17.10.2008

Taken sometime in 1990... this is Yellow Ten with it's engine being turned over. (That inertia starter looks like a real handful)

The gentleman at the beginning of the video is 190 veteran Oscar Boesch

Nice video, Crank it baby Crank it !!

Thank very much! I will extract this sound and work in start sound and low rotation sound for Focke Wulf D9, if you find new good sounds let me know.

- DK-nme - 18.10.2008

No don't make these sounds for the D9, if U wan't original noices/sounds. As I remember it, this fw-190 D9 is equipped with an Allison engine and not the original Jumo engine...

No fw-190 D models have a working or running Jumo engine!

Fw190D-13 does have a working Jumo engine and I read is flyable...
They simply dont want to risk it

- stansdds - 18.10.2008

Fw-190: 4 1/2 minutes and four men to get it started.

P-51D: 12 seconds and one man to get it started.

Proof that the P-51 did win the war.

I don't blame them for not flying the only Jumo equipped Fw-190, losing it would be tragic.

This IS an original FW-190 D13 (not D9 - thanks Phas3e)... the famous Yellow 10 that was restored by Gosshawk Aviation in the States. It currently resides at the Seattle Museum of Flight (I think - it may have since moved).

This is NOT the Florida-based, Allison-engined Flugwerk replica D-9.

IF you play the clip you are listening to an actual Jumo engine.

- Titus - 18.10.2008

Really, 4 1/2 min and four men to get it started (with Allison engine)

Anyway P51 win the war.....

Ehhh, alot of P-51's flew on the UK built merlin engine (or merlin engine built on license in the US of A)

Secondli I withdraw every jumo statements I've mentioned, as U guys are so certain that it is the real thing (my sources are limited to the magazines FlyPast and aeroplane)
