I think we should have historical correctness on the planes by that i mean if a german plane had swastikas put it on their,if the noseart is cat or something put it on their!I mean i'd like to have the most correct paintscheme on a plane so i can get a bit more realism on my Il-2.

If you want nude to noseart, open one, pick gray background color and paint over noseart, pick picture, cut it from edgrs and put it in. Save it as BMP to nosearts folder with different name and now you can use it.

Thing is, do you want some ignorrant twat looking over your shoulder and going "OMG NAZI" or "WTF PORN"? In the world of today political correctness is a major issue...
I could make one with censors, like bikinis instead of boobs or the german luftwaffe sign instead of a swastika, and one without!
@Jarmopower: Ive got all the skins, its just my question to you if youd like them

Historical correctness of course...
Fantasy crap and porn is not needed, and I don't include historical nude nose art, that's not porn, it's what the crews painted on their aircraft.
As to swastika's etc on German aircraft, well, I'm no Nazi sympathiser, but I'd expect to see them on a historical skin.. If we let these political correct prats rule our lives, then it'll be films and books next that'll get it... They make me sick!

AS Close to historically accurate as possible.
I like to see schemes based on photos rather than 30 ear old profiles.
I dont care for skins, especially German ones where the wing camo and such is made up because the skinner cant be bothered checking or asking for help.
NoseArt, Historical Accuracy. - HispanoSuiza - 26.10.2008
I like Combat Flight Sims to be arguably Historically accurate in everything with the exception of "NoseArt" and Pilot Skins.
Reason being, as much as I would like to have been O'Hare, Moelders, Nishizawa, Tuck etc. I feel somewhat strange flying in their specifically marked aircraft (some with specific 'NoseArt') knowing that I would fall short of their capability and individual characterizations on a mission (on or offline). I like to collect Ace skins so that I may incorporate them into missions.
Think of it this way, who has not flown a prepared mission and either by glancing out your Cockpit (or going external - depending on parameters) recognized an Ace's Plane and (irregardles of the dogmatic Ace AI) had their pulse race just a bit on recognizing it?
Suspension of disbelief is a natural inherent factor especially if you're a historical stickler!
I like customized 'Nose Art' in that you are individually and actively participating in an insertion of yourself into a 'what if' historical scenario.
Regarding rating/nudity. I think that blatant 'Porn' is a bit out of place here whereas nudity is a matter of opinion. Historically, NoseArt was based on very risque role models (of the time) as well as the vivid imagination of many of the post-pubescant Servicemen from the United States. I like Historical NoseArt, and individual, stylized NoseArt as long as it falls within a loosely based 'look' as to how it might have been done back then (IMHO). If you look at some of the NoseArt of the time, most didn't have a 'polished' look, as the Artwork was probably done by the Squadron's and/or Groundcrew's 'recognized' Artist.
Photo images or photorealistic airbrush as NoseArt seems historically out of place (again IMHO), though I am not offended - unless of course it is a blatant rip off of a Contemporary Artists Work.
When you have so much available talent within the flight sim community, there really is no need for this to happen.
Pilot Skins: I've seen the myriad out there in my Netcache folder from Super Heroes to scantilly clad women (claiming to be Women as well)! The Pilot Skin is even more individualized than the NoseArt but probably has a lot more leeway (and chuckles!) than anything within our arguably stringent historical purview.
On the Hakenkreuz, like the real planes, I like them to be there. I am also aware that the men who flew those planes did not always agree with what it signified.
I also respect and have no problems flying on servers or with hosts that do not prefer it to appear on aircraft of the times.

Agree 100% mate.
What about the new dambuster film by Peter Jackson (still in development BTW). I know someone who's working on the film, and he informed me that they won't call Gibson's dog
Nigger as it may offend. The name of Wing Commander Guy Gibson's pet labrador, Nigger, has been branded as "unacceptable" by Hollywood's money men.
Instead, the filmmakers are being forced to stray from historical accuracy and settle for the more politically correct Nidge.
Sir David Frost, who owns the rights to the film, said it will cause a huge problem.
He said: "We've been told that the word is simply unacceptable in America nowadays. This causes a huge problem because we want the film to be as historically correct as possible."
It was suggested that scriptwriters name the dog Digger, but Sir David said that wouldn't happen.
"I think we have reached a compromise in which we'll call him Nidge.
"Gibson did sometimes call his dog this, so there would be a historical precedent."
I know that this is perhaps more acceptable, but I can't understand why a dog's name should offend-given that the events are true and happened over 60 years ago. If it was a modern made fantasy film, then yes-I would be offended, but some people just go out to spoil things for the rest of us.
Not being offensive, but did anyone hear about a group of strict Muslim's who are trying to stop the red arrows for the 2012 Olympics as they say they are too British? Why, it sickens me.
