Possible to remove MODS to start Over? - nearmiss - 27.10.2008

I have an intall of MODS several months back. I seem to have a few infrequent or intermittent glitches in it.

Reinstalling from scratch is a last choice.

Is it possible to back down to say 4.08 IL2 patched (no mods) and rebuild from there?

I have the switcher installed 4.08 No mods/4.08 with Mods/4.09 no mods/4.09 with mods

--------------------------------------

I would like to now install the 4.09 patch mod built by this community in lieu of the IL2 version of the 4.09. My understanding is... it works better.

Anyway, I guess I can always start over.

It would be alot of help if I could just remove a few things and be back to square 1.

Sorry if I posted in the wrong place, but this looked like the better choice. Afterall, I'm talking about MOD removal.

Thanks

Use the switcher to put you back to unmodded 4.08

save your MODS folder under a new name 'xxMODS' so it doesn't get overwritten

install the AAA Unified Installer package...allowing all overwriting

choose which mods to re-install (for some things simply putting their folders back into the new MODS folder will work.....some will need alterations to the static.ini etc..... moving the MAPMODS folder over should work OK.) unless you want to do a fresh install of anything extra to the UI

switcher should still work OK

It is possible. I have done it now twice (working on second time.)

With my tinkering I fubared up my install. I just installed a fresh, and installed them two or three at a time. If I ran into trouble I re-downloaded the trouble mod and reinstalled it. It really is not so horrible. Most mods are as simple as cut and paste. The only ones that take time are mods like QMB, FMB, Ship Pack and anything that alters any .ini files like maps, static objects ...exc.

cause any problems with AAA :?:

removed this & keeps popping up
on task bar interfering with my
security software..hmmm :?:
