Does the SBD-3 sight work? - poncho - 29.10.2008

Does anyone know how to undim the telescopic sight in the SBD-3? I'm aware of the reticle dimmer control, but doesn't do anything on the SBD. The tgas in the cockpit file suggest to me that it was intended to be usable. I want to fix this, but first I want to be sure I am not missing something obvious? :?

I know about that too. The field of view thru the sight is too small for me to use effectively. I just want the sight to be somewhat usable in wide view like the F2 or some of the Japanese a/c that have telescopics.

... hmmm , that would require FM (or air file anyway ... like with open canopy thing ) editing i'm affraid .... maybe you could just remove whole mesh ( cover) from hier.him and get it uncovered permanently ...IMHO

cheers

No, I don't need it, but I don't think that works the way it was intended. The tga below from the original cockpit folder suggests to me that this should have been the view thru the scope in cockpit view. The way it is now- it's just an obstruction in a key spot.

I use it only for divebombing... SBD-3 Is not a fighter...

Here's what I know....from Dart's page http://www.darts-page.com/

You gotta use "Toggle Gunsight" to bring up the actual bombing sight in the SBD.

But.....its not as accurate as the "ring" sight.

Stay with the "ring" sight.

Arghhh !

http://vmf124.combatsim.com/tactics-div ... ssion.html

Its got pretty pictures and stuff ! And explains the bombsight better tha I did.

And I didn't know what you guys were talking about the "Shift+F1" - since I changed my controls around so much. I just called it the "Toggle Gunsight". Sorry.

Good luck !
