How do you install more than one copy of IL2 1946 so you can have modded and non modded versions running on the same computer

Just get a fresh install of Il-2 1946, then copy all the files from the install into an empty folder. Taa-daa, 2 installations.

Once installed...you can copy the whole folder anywhere you like..... even burn it to a DVD...then just copy it anywhere

The install process puts stuff in the Registry which serves no useful purpose...just makes it harder to uninstall...best to wipe that from the registry

What with skins and mods and missions..most peoples il2 folder are more than 10 GB now...so why stuff up your C: drive....put the folder somewhere else

Actually, to run unmodded Il-2 you don't have to install anything whatsoever. Just run an original exe file. Remember - when installing the wrapper this file is usually renamed as il2fb.bak (or whatewer?). I've re-renamed it as il2fb_orig.exe, so when I need to run an unmodded game I just call this exe.

Simpler solution:

Get the unified installer, and you'll be able to switch at will...
