Pilot Careers-All Mashed Up! - ALOTEF - 02.11.2008
None of my pilot careers work! I can get to the area where you press "generate", but when I click it, ti just makes the menu "clicking" sound, and does nothing. Any help?

Do you have DCG installed ?

If you have DCG installed, any original DGen campaigns
WILL NOT WORK. There is a box in the bottom right of the screen when you are selecting what country, rank and campaign you want to play. If it does not say it is a DCG campaign (assuming you have DCG installed) it will not work. Only DCG campaigns work with DCG. All of the stock DGen campaigns do not (Except in a couple of rare casses).

If you don't know what DCG is then I doubt you have it installed. In that case I am betting that you just need to install the english career language fix. The problem is all you text is in russian right?
Anyway, DCG stands for Dynamic Campaign Generator. DCG is a third party program that will replace DGen, which creates your offline campaign missions.
DCG is better because it allowes you to tweak your campaign more than DGen, but also to do so without editing text files. You can fly in random weather, random time of day, and have random # of flights in your mission. Also, all ground vehicles will be shown in the mission and not just the ones that are a target. You have a much more populated world.
IF you are bored with DGEn then I would recommend DCG.

when i click generate on a pilot career, the computer just freezes up and i have to shut it down and restart it to fix it.

well, try generate some DGen career one more time, if nothing happens exit game go into your IL2 main folder and search for file DGenERROR.log, open it with notepad....there can be something what will help you understand your problem. good luck !
