U-99 Otto Kretschmer - reflected - 22.11.2008
This is my first and last U-boat model. It's a Revell 1/125 U-99. NEVER buy one! the quality is so rubbish, I was ashamed of the result. nothing fits nothing AT ALL. No panel lines, no details AT ALL.

this kit was state of the art when released... like 100 years ago.
it is very old and you get better (Revell) U-boots these days.
nonetheless you made the best of it

Looks great thou , you have done a good job if the kit was a bitch to fit.

it doesn't seem like a good quality of model, but if you think it turned out poorly, (no offense) you're quite crazy! (please don't take what i said personally!)

Really? Thank you guys! I didn't now that it was an old kit, hence the poor quality.
My next project is putting a historical anomaly into my BoB scramble diorama by an airfix Bedford refueller (from 1941, but I don't care. There's no 1/72 Albions anyway), and a 1/48 Douglas Bader Spitfire diorama. I hope they'll turn out better

Dont write off Revell and U-Boats altogether, they do a superb 1/72 version, mind you at about a Metre long its hard to find a space for it.
I got the Andrea minatures crew for mine, adds a bit of life to the kit.

Wow, that looks very nice! It seems revell bothered more about details in 1/72, than in 1/125.. Too bad that even this 1/125 is too big to find a suitable place for it in my room.
