Stutters solution guide. - Potenz - 23.11.2008

Since i was able to play with perfect settings, i been looking for a solution to the stuttering problem, when playing with water 3 and 4, after so many research and test and error i could eliminate the problem almost for complete.

This guide will help you (i hope) to be able to eliminate the stuttering on high resolution water setting

this works for me, and hope for you too.

My specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 5200 x2
4gb's 2 x 2gb's kingston 800mhz
Asus M3A
HD western digital 160gb's 8mb
XFX 9800 GTX+

Here we go:

I'm using Nvidia drivers 180.48 and this is my configuration.

First set you configuration as global setting, as base profile. be sure that in your Nvidia Control Panel (NVCP) is like the picture below.



And this is the configuration settings for the diferents 3d options in NVCP, note that the AA & AF setting could be lower depends on your video card, this is what i use, other options try to keep it as you can see in the image below.



next you have to be aware is about the PhysX option, i realized that if this option is enabled you will get 12 fps as much, so for Il-2 must be disabled.



Now you have your NVCP configurated you need to download Nhancer, this is an unoficcial Control panel for Nvidia cards, this program came with many pre set profiles for many diferent games, an we will use the profile for Il-2 forgotten battles, as this profiles is configurated with the old drivers shader managing, this is the key to eliminate stuttering when using water 3 & 4.

Once you had installed Nhancer on your system, this will look for installed games, once it finish to search you will see a list with all the profiles installed and not installed on your computer, you will choose the Il-2 forgotten battles profile* as you see in the image.



The default profile will have a presetted AA setting so we will change this setting for our NVCP setting, but THE REST MUST BE UNTOUCHED. In the image below you can see that i changed to my NVCP AA settings.



This is all. hope this had help you with this annoyng problem.

* Remember that everytime you restart you PC you will have to open Nhancer and let it load the profiles, and allways you are going to run Il-2, open Nhancer, click over the profile and minimaze Nhancer.

Hello! i have 8800 GTS 512 card

I have some questions

1) i have drivers 168 something, the newest are 180 something, are there any glitches with the game?
2)if i want to change the driver, how do i uninstall the old and install the new driver?

First D/L Driver Cleaner Pro. (MajorGeeks.com or guru3d.com)
Run that to clean out Nvidia VIDEO Drivers. Do no select all Nvidia drivers as you will loose your motherboard drivers as well. (If using an Nvidia Chipset board).

As for video drivers, I'm using the latest drivers and getting 204fps with Vsync off. 64fps with it on.
I usually leave it on due to the use of the Track IR. You get vertical tearing if you turn your head fast with Vsync Off.

thank you for the response! whithout the drivers, will the graphics card work?
