Too bad, they are historically corect.
Historical acounts about Russian green tracers:
"Tracers came in two forms. One version burned for green five seconds and covered 1200 meters (although it was required to reach 1500 meters). An anti-aircraft tracer was also created. It was unique in that it burned red for 800 meters as it ascended, then burned green as it fell back to earth. This version was soon discarded, but the first model was kept to the present day."

I made this mod for myself but I can give it to you:

its only a part solution because the tracers are pixel images when viewed from close range but are being swithched to single color vector dots when viewed from the distance (I couldnt change that, help welcomed). I eliminated all pink, blue, green stuff and kept only the yellow, orange and white colors.

Maybe the visible distance is not quite good?, i mean, i can spot the tracers from far away, maybe that was realistic, maybe not, dont know. At night for sure the tracers were very visible, but at daylight?. Any info about that?. Maybe the ones we have are way too shinny.

Tracers are visible in bright daylight conditions, I fire them at long ranges during the day on a regular basis.. thats why they are there, to indicate fall of shot in all conditions.
The trace element is seen out to various ranges, but they also have a 'trace burnout' after a certain range, depending on the type of munitions used..
