request for Stuka Bk37 cannon explosion. - Guest - 30.11.2008

I think the cannon impact explosion in sim is tiny. Seeing video online, there were rather high water plumes and explosive plumes even on misses. Would it be possible to expand this effect, I'm talking mini-geyser.
Thanks.

Maybe some mod shrunk my effect as I don't remember it being so small.
This is my request to the community. Or tell me which file to alter, thank you.

I may be mistaken, but doing that would be a weapons mod... which is not permitted. But I'm not sure.

In the video you saw the cannon probably fired HE projectiles, i.e. shells filled with explosive. In combat against tanks however BK 3,7 cm fired APCR projectiles only, which contained no explosive.

You mean this video of Ju-87Gs going mudmoving?

The G-2 fired AP Tungsten rounds IIRC not HE and still there are massive pilars of debris lifting off the ground after the bullets hit terra firma.

The cannon the Stuka G carries in the game should not have these explosions. The game version fires the tungsten armor-peircing shell. That is not what is being used in the video. In the video they are using HE shells against landing craft in Russia.

"Famous for their tank killing capabilities their first REAL use was against Soviet shipping and landing craft in Feb. 43. Rudel alone destroying over 70 of these vehicles in this month. Guncam footage is from this unit. Cannon armed Stukas (then designated G-1) were only send to regular squadrons in October 43. The footage itself is most impressive. The sensible fuzes of the high-explosive 3.7 shells (used during these attacks) get triggered just by hitting the water resulting in HUGE fountains of water..1-2 hits
were enough to blow up a landing craft...anyway..see for yourself .. turn speakers up and enjoy. "

So.. the game effect is probably pretty accurate.

I have a sugestion:

Lets try include in gun load option this HE ammo (only in visual effect), is very nice!

Thank you for the info.
regarding the game effect,
maybe, but it seems smaller than an mg striking the ground.
