Hawk 75 Flammability - Sillius_Sodus - 05.12.2008

Hi,

First, let me say that the modders are doing a FANTASTIC job bringing new life to IL2.

Now for my question, I was flying against the Hawk 75 the other day and noticed that it is quite easy to set it on fire. Now I have no idea how the AI or new a/c are made to be flyable but is the Hawk's dm based on a Japanese model? No criticism, I'm just curious.

Thanks and good hunting,

Sillius_Sodus

The Hawk 75's did not have self sealing fuel tanks. Much like the zero's which is why they burn so well! The British did not even see their version received as combat ready and kept them in rear echolon squadrons. No real armor and no self sealing fuel tanks= No frontline use. Although the French were much more desperate for aircraft prior to the outbreak of events.

My original intention was to make finnish Hawk 75 which had a self-sealing tanks. Oleg kind of transformed it to P-36 Sad
