I just wonder if it would be possible to have a moving balloon as an enemy? I started to make some missions against balloons (it is possible to shoot them down with rear gunner in U-2vs!! Big Grin

), but I think would be better idea to have them moving... :lol:

Baloons were still used for military purposes in 1930s. (It is hard to explain this to ignorant people.)

Yeah, there is a mod that enables U-2 gunner (and gives more realistic cockpit) - you just fly below a balloon, and when it is behind you, you just press "C" and take the machine gun and shoot at it. I got three German observation baloons like this. Big Grin

(It is more entertaining than to shoot it down in U-2 than in J8A or Cr-42). But a moving baloon would be better...

you would think these guys could keep there critism constructive,
I find there is quite a few peeps with nothing but rude remarks on this site.

If they have nothing constructive to add they should just keep quite!

I flew your L.O.T. campaign Cracken,it was very good.I can see where you are going with the moving balloons idea.Keep up the good work.I am presently flying your other Italian campaign.

Well you may laugh, but seen in my WW1 Somme missions ; if a ballons moorings are destroyed by bombs or ground artillery it will float up-up- and away.

Might give you an extra objective, though it's rate of climb is probably greater than a U-2VS. :lol:

A fully loaded U2 struggles to lift its own weight over a gentle rise, let alone chase after a huge envelope of hydrogen gas quickly turning into the worlds first sattelite.

For me, the logical conclusion to having a moving balloon, would be a Zeppelin.....
and i'm ALL for that idea, especially as i love doing WW1 scenarios in IL2... 8)
