Please help...lost all sound. - CUJO_1970 - 31.12.2008

What would cause complete sound loss to the sim?

And yes the volume is on...I've checked all the basics in the sound menu, no dice. Sound works fine for everything else outside of the sim - videos, music etc. But when I start the sim there is no sound to it at all.

There must be a file problem or conflict somewhere but I don't know where to look...anyone have any suggestions please? I don't think it's a new mod conflict because sound worked fine after both of my latest downloads.

Any help would be appreciated Cry

Take a peek in to your game console during play for any errors and clues ,
game console might just very well tell you what's the problem and which file Smile
Try it , it's better than nothing and very quick .
Scroll game console page up and down looking for any clues like " can not load file xxx " and other clues .

Dear Cujo,
Firstly I would think that there is no problem in the control panel of your computer because as you say it is only the IL-2 game. I would look in the sound section of the game and check to see if it has turned the sound off either in the \general or audio section....look to see if the wrong speaker type is selected. If that is OK then go to the setup program in the root directory of the sim via windows explorer click on setup.exe and reset the parameters of the sound section.....just type in the settings (or use the dropdown menues) as before, even if they appear to be there anyway.
regards,
SLP

I have had this happen for no apparent reason too Sad

Check your Conf.ini and make sure you have this line:

sounduse=1

For some reason something has a habit of switching it to

sounduse=0

I have no idea what causes it, but its definitely Mod related Wink
