MODS have ballsed up my BoE RAF DGen!!! - FENRIR - 06.01.2009
Right, bit miffed. Went to restart an RAF fighter career flying Spitfires thru overlord to Ardennes and NWE (a canny bit of editing allowed me to add in Ian Boys' excellent campaign into the sequence) and now all my BoE selections are in Cyrillic, my edit has disappeared and when i try to gen a campaign all the mission is in cyrillic also! ARGH!
Why is Den referencing the _Ru .dat files rather than my straight Brit ones? My edits are still in the DGen folder, I can see them but they aint appearing in the drop down list when selecting the campaign to start?
HELP!

Try doing a search at this site concerning language fixes.

When you're using mods, you have a russian .exe.......that's why it reads the _ru files...

Aaaaah.....
That'll do it! Didn't realise the mods ran under a Russian .exe.
Okay. If I switch back to 4.08 will that still be using the Russian .exe or will it sort my problem? I had an old pre-mod running and that seemed to work okay under the mod, it's just starting the campaign that seems to be the issue.

There is a "career language fix" somewhere on the forum - just search for it (notice the "search" link on the top of the forum), download and install, it will get you sorted out.
Are you aware................ - danimalhanke - 06.01.2009
In case you don't know, you can easily have as many versions of IL2-46 as the size of your HDD will allow? Simply make a copy BEFORE you make changes! One setup for each version if you have the HDD space. Right now I have 2 500Gb HDDs and at least 1 copy of each version back to 4.05 including 3 vesions of 4.08. One for tinkering with, one without mods for on-line play and one which is never touched and obviously my back up. I have 2 4.09s one with mods and one without mods. And is as simply as making a copy! In fact I NEVER make changes to the off-line copy until I've tested the changes 1st in a copy ditto for my on line 4.08 and the un-modded 4.09b1m. Get it?
