Darwin Defenders updated to 2.0! - Poltava - 06.01.2009
My Campaign "Darwin Defenders", where you fly with the US 49th Fighter Squadron in 1942, defending the Darwin Area against fierce Japanese aerial attacks, have now been
updated to version 2.0!
There are a number of changes to the campaign:
*Five more skins
*One more mission (night patrol)
*Two more interlude movies, plus end movie
*Skill level of Japanese Bombers crews has been adjusted
You can download the new version here:

Thank you for version 2. Very impressive body of work. However I am right in the middle of version one.
Does this mean I must start again?
Or can I install v.2 over v.1 and contiue the campaign?
I've stopped this great campaign in case I mess things up if I install "2" over "1" - Can anybody shed a little light here? Thanks in advance. DW

1. The mission 0 is of no importance, as it is not in the campaign. Sloppy of me to leave it there, though. I have removed it now.
2. I actually don't know what happens if you install 2.0 over 1.0, but I actually THINK it should work fine. Has someone else perhaps tried it?

Nice, but the Mission where Zeros attack you on the Runway is pretty unfair
bombs hit me even before I start my engine ?
I have instant succes on, I dont know how I accomplished this mission without it

Hi Poltava,
i receive the same error message as Eckhart: Mission loading failed string index out of range:1
I use the new Darwin map. Your Darwin Defenders Campaign is my favorit of all! Please, can you help to play your great campaign on the new map? Thank you for all your great work here.

Ouch, this can be quite a hefty task.
At worst it will mean that I will have to redo the whole campaign, and that isn't much fun...
I will try and contact the map maker and see what he has to say, if there is a short-cut to this.

Sorry guys, no idea what could be causing this. Does it still give the error if you start the campaign from the beginning?
Only real changes made to the map are new taxi/take-off and spawn points, reworked tex for the airfields and new folder structure for the tex. There were some slight changes to the road/rail, but these are only minor and shouldn't cause problems. Only stock 4.09 objects were used.
Not sure what to suggest as I can't run the campaign to test as I'm well on the way in creating V2.0 and don't have V1.1 installed any more.
Peter, do you get the same errors? Maybe check the takeoff and landing waypoints in the campaign are snapped correctly to the new (not very much different) locations. (long shot)
Cheers, Neil

Yes I get this error message from the beginning (even after restarting the campaign) :-?
However, I found a solution which is basically a rollback; it is the solution proposed by Gerax44 viewtopic.php?t=7675&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=120
Fortunately I had a 1.0 version of the Darwin Map to do this (...blessed be those who do backup)
looking forward to a 2.0 version of this map but next time I will be more careful before updating blindly my maps...
Cheers,
Eckhart
