Hey Guys,
I was hoping there might be a mod available that makes radio comms in offline play easier, eg simply one button assigned to a command. No need to go through menu tree to find the command. So if i hit the "c" button then my wingman will know I need cover etc.
Please let me know if there is such a mod or some way to re- assign keys to do this.

If you have a microphone, use the program shoot
It will enable you to bind a voice command to several keys in sequence.
F.i. In the setup shout help and bind it to the keys tab, 1, 4 (if that is the correct sequence) and your AI teammates will try to clear your tail.

Or if you have a programmable keyboard like the G-15 with macro keys you could have up to 18 radio commands all at the touch of a single key stroke

If you have an X52 you can also bind macros to any of the buttons, but this means that you have less buttons for more important things like shooting...

What ever happened to pure old school scripting. I don't know about IL2 But I know that /Bind (Key here) V_say oops is very convinient.

Those with HOTAS gear (CH, Saitek or Thrustmaster) can make use of the profile software to create macro bindings to various buttons. I have a Thrustmaster Cougar, and use the Foxy software to create/edit profiles for the Cougar.
One of the supplied profiles with the Foxy software offers a slew of different radio options on one 4-way hat switch... Three modes and a modifier button allows 24 different combinations possible on that one hat switch. I couldn't wrap my brain around trying to remember all the different possible combinations and disabled the lot of them... Now I do it the old-fashioned way and simply press "tab-7" or "tab-8-1" when calling for help (for example). I prefer to keep the combat-necessary stuff assigned to the various buttons available to me, and have (over the years) memorized what each one does. Familiarity with one's controls is very important, using new gear doubles the work-load of learning a sim.
