German Landmine parachute bomb - anti-addick - 08.01.2009

I've been reading up a lot on the Blitz and one bomb type that is not in game that was dropped a large numbers, and very much feared, was the landmine parachute bomb dropped by He111's

These things floated down on chutes, often people would run to them thinking they were bailed out Germans only to find it was a massive high explosive with a huge blast radius. Many had delayed action fuses set and they would often get caught on edges of buildings etc making them very hard and dangerous to defuse.

I think it would make a nice mod if somebody fancies a crack at it.

Sounds like a good idea

Yes but this was a PARACHUTE bomb. The never made impact craters but would easily blast away a street of houses.

1 of those things fell onto the street behind my Mom's house in Wales back in 1941. It blew up a day later and took out the whole street.

Similar story here, a parachute mine became entangled around the chimney of a house two streets away from my grans house in south east London. The ARP / Police had evacuated everyone before it went off, and when it did, it blew in all her windows and the front door 30 feet down the hall into her kitchen. Half the street where it exploded had to be rebuilt.
