Map + mod - Bearcat - 16.01.2009

Is there a way to make a mod that would allow you to pull up a seperate map like file that contained the brief?

Hey, BC... i don't think there is such a mod specifically, but if you look at the new P24 from Ranwers, you'll see tthe pilot's legs in-cockpit, with a map on the 'kneepad'. One of the things that can be done, is tha tyou can rename/replace that map with anyone of your choice.
Not quite what you're looking for, I think, but all we have at the moment... Smile

I think he means, can we bring up a window in game that gives us the mission briefing..
This is a good idea, even if it is just a summary with headings and waypoints, weather and mission outline etc..

At the risk of sounding too low-tech, why not make notes on a piece of paper and keep it handy? On a sticky-pad kept near your computer, write the info you deem necessary, then just stick it to the bottom of your monitor. This is what I do; this way you choose how much or how little information you feel is needed.

Great days all.

Picture the scene.. you have just 'back doored' into an online war in HL.. your squad is waiting for you.
You haven't had time to get into the briefing as the host wants to launch.. I see a very good reason for this from that example alone..
I'm certainly one of the 'be prepared' chaps, and I do make notes, plot waypoints on my printed map etc.. but not everyone wants to do that.. so for them, this would be an asset as well..

couldn't you just ask some squad mate over TS for mission info ?

ok,ok.. So I didn't state the obvious.. another go?
Picture the scene.. you have just 'back doored' into an online war in HL.. you are joining at an important stage in the war, you are not flying with your squad and therefore are not on comms with anyone..

Not overly relevant, but I remember back in the Silent Hunter 2 days I would use a whiteboard marker to make notes on my CRT monitor.
