not bad, but its all about price point. I have a TREKSTOR ibeat mp3 because the orice was extremely reasonable for 8 gig and expandable.

Matrox ahs the best warrenty, but that's because they have some of the worst hard drives!. I've replace more less than 6 in 8 years. No not mine, but friends and family computers.

- SG2_Wasy - 19.01.2009

I have 4 Seagate 320Gb. Three year - no any problem....

- stansdds - 19.01.2009

I've purchased probably 7 or 8 Western Digital hard drives in the last 12 years. Only one failed and that was likely the result of either the motherboard or power supply failing. The RAM and CPU as well as the HD got toasted in that one. All of the others have been replaced simply because I need larger or faster drives.

I been building comp's for year and always went with seagate. I Bought 12 of there Hdd's already. Unfortunately this last one didn't satisfy me as much. I Feel like it's a little slow. But seagate definelty makes good Hdd for there price. I bought 2 Wd's and 1 failed with in a month and recently The other one has been giving me problems as well. I Think i was just misfortune. No that they are that crappy.

- Pirate - 19.01.2009

Agreed American. I've owned both WD and Seagate at different times. And have eventually had them fail on me. But hard drives do that given enough time.... Some people seem to have been unlucky,
maybe Hunter1 had drives from a bad batch or something.

I always expect that at somepoint my hard drives will fail.... usually with little or no warning. Back up the important stuff - photos and the like, everything else - game installs etc. can be replaced. If a hard drive ever starts making ticking, clunking, grinding noises, immediately get what you need off it and dump it. Thats advice I learned the hard way
