you don't see many storch svreen around anymore, so this is a good change!

1. duplicate the picture to a new layer and set it to overlay mode
2. bring up the 'Layer style' panel by doubleclicking the 2nd picture layer on the layers palette
3. turn off 1 color channel (in this case the blue)
4. make a levels layer as a clipping mask for the 2nd picture layer and adjust the midtone (mainly) to make the darkened tones in the picture a bit lighter

This is a very simple and quick enhancement method for any picture and needs a minute only

If I use filters then I use the KaiPowerTools7 - Channel Surfing filter, its very good for adjustig better contrast + sometimes the default Blur/Radial blur with a 10-20 pixel zoom setting (both used on the 1st Fw-190 picture).
