Morning fog - MrOblongo - 23.01.2009

Any one have a mod to make the morning fog last all day?. That would be nice...to have a clear sky with fog Big Grin.

....or better yet, to make it go away completely???

Yes, it'd be nice to spend some foggy days ABOVE it Smile

Morning fog is effect of low sun .

There is line in load.ini any map -

[WORLDPOS]
CAMOUFLAGE = DESERT
MONTH=7
DECLIN = 10
PRESSURE = 745
TEMPERATURE = 25

it is a sun height

paste DECLIN = 70 Big Grin

sorry my france Sad

Cant test now...ill not be able to play up to march. But, will that make the sun be like always in the horizon?.

Im thinking to have the fog all day for maps like Burma, to recreate a very humid weather. Or in Europe for low clouds all day. And a nordic like sun will not look very correct in the jungles of Burma.

Someone can test this?

i don't think it has to do with the sun declination. the fog seems to burn off at 7.30 or 8am no matter the map

And make the sim less realistic? I think the morning mist is excellent, and I agree, some random persistence would be brilliant in winter missions though it might look odd on desert maps. Fog is not so important, since aeroplanes generally didn't operate if such conditions prevented visual flight.

I agree with all of you!

And if the mod will create a fog that can be placed like any of other common object?

We can edit the map in FMB and add fog near us strip , or looking what caldrail specify good , we can place the fog around our target so we can simulate that we can take off and find adverse condition on the ground that afflict our striking ability!

Perhaps can be even set the fog height so we can simulate an improvement of condimeteo!
