Where to put new planes - No mods folder - beanie9700 - 24.01.2009

Hi all , am trying to get new planes installed , i followed instructions of forum, fresh install of game il2 1946, installed patch 4.08, install eng sound mod 9.3 , then wrapper .dll , then ac installer, the game opens up fine but cannot see any mod folder in c:il2/1946 to install new planes into.

Any help would be very much appreciated .

Why do you not install UI v.1 instead of the sound Mod?

It came with the Mod folder and a full branch of planes in 1 ( big ) pack.

Four DLs to be instaled in sequence, easily and fast enough.

Cheers.

IL-2 was never designed to be modded, that's why there's no modsw folder.

Get the Unified installer, that'll set you up nicely.

UNIFIED INSTALLER

Unless you're an old hand at modding your games stick to the easy way. The UI is the ONLY way for a beginner trying to add mods.

Cheers for the replys , have installed unified installer , works great . Many Thanks. I do have one problem though . The 6dof , when i first ried it with freetrack i got yaw , pitch, roll and zoom working but now zoom has stopped working. Does anyone else have any ideas, tried re-installing freetrack, re-installed unified installer back over the top of the installer.
