How to stop the map from having snow/ice when there is none? - Ramstein - 29.01.2009

How to stop the map from having snow/ice when there is none? On some maps the area around the airbase is covered in an icy blue looking snow/ice and can cover a huge area. I have tried several video settings on my ATI Radeon video card, but cannot figure out what settings, if any, can fix this.
note: this has nothing to do with mods, as it happens with or without them installed. :roll:

Here is a typical scene with the graphics problem in IL-2 that looks like ice or snow where it should not be. It is a summer map. Normandy 1944.

Imho you should try to install my default map upgrade pack + deactivate any other mapmods

I already said it's stock map... there are no mods in this install..

What dll's are you using m8 as I had the same kinda problem (Not as bad, but bad enough)?

The default ones?

I found playing with the 5 dll's Set you get in the Download Forum plus the one for March 08 from 1C help with the problem I had.

I may have fixed it.. for IL-2 I changed my ATI Catalyst Anti-Aliasing from 8x to 4x. Now that ice looking color is gone... Not sure how it affects all the maps, and if it will affect my other flight sims.
