Problems with 6DOF - hos - 04.02.2009

Hello all,

I am using the 1.1 unified installer. It is the only mod I have ever tried. I have gotten onto Zekes, and played QMB in 4.09. The only problem I have is TIR.

I am having some problems getting 6DOF to work correctly. I have TI3Pro with Vector expansion. I am now on the newest TIR software. I only get pitch, yaw and roll. I can't get any XYZ movement in game. I see XYZ movement when I view heads in the TIR software. I have tried creating a new profile with default settings. Tried playing around with the settings etc... Here is a pic of my TIR software settings:

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

Thanks
hos

In-game Menu interface: the menu is shown while [KeyPad *] is pressed. Hold this
key and press additional keys to modify these settings:

[KeyPad 0] Toggle Zoom View.
[KeyPad 1] Toggle Inverse Zoom on Check 6.
[KeyPad 2] Increase G Force Factor.
[KeyPad 3] Decrease G Force Factor.
[KeyPad 4] Increase Turbulence Factor.
[KeyPad 5] Decrease Turbulence Factor.

Zoom view: change the FOV with your head smoothly. It's activated when you cross
the middle of Z axis fordward and backward. You still can change the view with
original commands (gunsight, normal and wide views) as long as you aren't in zoom
view. This feature is automatically disabled while looking back. Zoom view is
optimized to be used in normal view, and because of that you can experiment some
glitches in wide view.

Inverse Zoom on Check 6: a different approach to the check 6 action. While this option
is enabled looking back and leaning front will cause a wider FOV.

Custom Turbulence/G Force head movement: previous versions were in conflict with this
great effects, after some work the merge is done as close as i could. Via menu you
can change the 'intensity' of these head movement effects (in the form of multiplier
factor). G Forces depends on headshake difficulty setting and turbulence depends on
wind/turbulence difficulty setting. If you don't have these options activated these
effects remains disabled.

Wider X axis movement for bomber planes: the mod detects the player's aircraft and if
it's a bomber you can move further on X axis. Mosquito included.

Toggle gunsight command is enabled, but X/Y tracker's axes are disabled while you are
on this view.

Couldn't get it to work either. Download and install 6DOF v2.0 fixed it for me.

In all honesty, I also have TiR, had the same problems...

Then I downloaded http://www.free-track.net/ and realized that I’ve wasted some $$$ on TiR. I've been using Freetrack for about 8 months now and have never encountered any problems.

I just realized it locks ourt XYZ in gunsight mode, but it works in regular view. I didn't realize that's how it's supposed to work. Thanks jurekt49

Im having this 6DOF problem. WHen I use the switcher to either 4.08 6DOF or 4.09 6DOF, I have a problem joining a game through HL. In this case 4.08 for Zekes or 4.09 for BoB map if I switch to normal modded I can join normally.

UI 1.1

Using Freetrack, the X,Y,Z axis are not working, tried both gunsight and normal view, tried the 6 DOF 2.0 update, but that didn't work either. When I press * Key I get the 6DOF menu up and zoom is enabled. I've reported this in the UI 1.1 bugs but, me and one other guy are the only ones who have a issue other than those who posted here.

Note: Doesn't work with either in 4.08 or 4.09 via the switch .bat files.

Vista 64 Sp1
Inetl duo 2.0Ghz
ATI Mobility HD3650
4 Gig Ram
(It's a Toshiba A300 Laptop, runs IL2.....good enough for when I'm away form home)

I've never tried 6DOF on this machine so I can't say if it ever worked. New Desktop coming soon with XP (I now 6DOF works on XP).

Yes I'm getting head tracking but only Yaw, Pitch, and Roll. The X,Y,Z axis are not working in game.
