Sirens and SearchLights in FMB? How to use them? - mavyalex - 08.02.2009

Hello,

I searched how to set up Sirens and Searchlights in IL-2 1946 in the FMB but in vain...
I found the objects, placed them, put the time at around 7:30pm (dawn, almost night), but it doesn't work...Plus AAA doesn't fire.

Any idea how to do it?

SIncerely,

dude, depending on the map, searchlights will only activate at night , after 7:30-8:00, and you must check that for example, if the searchlights are Red (team), they will only be activated if an enemy (Blue) plane comes within a certain distance - i'm not sure offhand, i think the distance is about 8km, and vise versa. The sirens work in a similar fashion - activated at a certain distance, only if an ENEMY plane is near.
The only difference is that the siren will work day and night.
Hope that helps. Big Grin

Ok got it. Got the wrong time... - mavyalex - 08.02.2009

Hello,

I didn't know searchlights activated only after 8 pm or so...I wanted them to actovate in near dark sky (like around 7:30 pm...
I guess it depends on the regions: in Northern countries I guess it becomes dark earlier, so at 6 pm its already dark. But it also depends on the season, I agreee.
Its ok...For sirens I guess you can't hear them at more than 200 meters altitude, that's why (I was low pass with U-2 and couldn't hear anything..I guess the engine noise hoded the siren sound...)

Thanks anyway..

ya. I'm looking for a way to increase the distance that sirens are audible, without making them blaring loud up close, even though they were
