Hello everybody,
One question for the experienced members. I am currently using the IL2 1946 4.08m and I cannot install and use the ItalyAfricaGreece map available for some time now; I had previously upgraded to 4.09b following instructions available at this site and it worked for one day, then the game would not load after the initial screen. After two unsuccesful re-installations with all relevant patches, I trimmed it down to 4.08m version and it works fine but I cannot load the map (playable in my previous short-lived upgrade). Does anyone know whether this map (ItalyAfricaGreece by Redfox) is only compatible with 4.09b? If not, any suggestions to solve the problem?

I suggest you download and install the Unified Installer version 1.1. It includes this map and a game version switcher, among many other things.
If the map uses objects only available in 4.09, there is nothing you can do to make it work with 4.08.

This map can be used with both the 4.08 and with the 4.09.
To see it you must install and activate a MOD.
Follow the instructions to upload the Mod.

Either install the soundmod and wrapper or the UI 1.1. I recommend the UI 1.1. This will give you a large number of maps, mods, effects and new flyable aircraft all in one simple install.
You will want to have a good fast internet connection for this last option- it's a bunch of big files, and you'll need all them for it to work.

I followed your instructions and downloaded all UI 1.1. files in two different hours (late night, early morning) It took approx 14 min. per file for the large ones. Installed them according to instructions available at this site and everything works fine! I have my ItalyAfricaGreece map back plus lots of other goodies. I have to express my admiration and gratitude to all modders and programmers who have contributed in this magnificent endeavour. It is worth every minute downloading! Thanks again to all members of the community who were kind enough to respond to my questions. Great job everyone!

The ItalyAfricaGreece map is beautiful. But would it be possible to have Southern France too and North-East Spain (Barcelona?)

That would be great...So we could reenact the US arrival in Provence and French Riviera during WWII...

I would love to see even more maps that are QMB ready. The IAG map would be a very nice addition.
