Annoying desktop problem - Printable Version

Annoying desktop problem - Harnage - 10.02.2009

When I start my game the computer stays in the desktop and I have to ctrl+esc to exit the game and go back in to be able to play it. This used to happen occationally but when I installed the unified installer 1.1 it happens everytime now. :x

Does anyone know what causes this?

yeh, just click the il2 icon once, and then wait.

I have a similar problem. I have to hit the windows key and return to my desktop, then go back into the game.

This happens to me quite regularly and Im sure it happened even before I modded my game. I thought it was a vista problem and I've gotten used to it by now Smile

I thought I was the only one with this problem. I thought mine was caused by running a different game resolution than my desktop but I've changed back and it's still doing it. Anyone have any ideas on this one? It's not a big problem but I hate the idea that something just isn't right.

I've a similar problem too.
Additional sometimes after click on mission start, there's an IL2fb.exe error.
The problems appears first after installing UI 1.1. With vers. 1.0 the problems doesn't exist.
I've installed twice, fresh and new formatted drive, but the error comes again.

I'm using Windows XP Professional SP3

I have had the same issue only on the 1946 version of the game and very much prior to adding any MODs. I don't have the issue if I load the IL2 FB/PF/Aces version of the sim.

I did post this issue here sometime ago and it was explained not to move the cursor after clicking on the desktop icon. This did work for several months but now the annoying problem is back - very frustrating!

Hawk nailed this one. When you double click the Il2.exe just wait for the game to load, If you click on anything before the splash screen appears you get stuck somewhere between the desktop and the game, This has nothing to do with the 1.1 or any other mods - it might be more noticable as f(or me at least) it takes longer to load the game with the UI. Just be patient, and don't click on anything before the game has loaded Smile

Also R click on the shortcut icon you use to launch the sim and select properties -->Shortcut--> and make sure it is set to run Maximized.
