Deciding on new aircraft - highlander_262 - 26.02.2009

Deciding which aircraft to have a crack at next, thought I would let the community decide.

The Fury, didn't even have to think about it. This being said, there is one other particulat Hawker design that I think deserves more attention before moving on to exotic and fantasy designs or pre-war/post-war types.

I'll give you a hint : It carries 4 20mm guns and rockets, has a Napier engine and was very extensively used by the RAF on the Western front from 1942 to the end of the war in a wide variety of roles. It was instrumental in tipping the balance in favour of the allies during the fierce battles in the Normandy bocage in the Summer of 1944...

I don't believe any of the planes mentionned in the list above can boast such an impressive resume or be quite as useful in half as many scenarios/missions Big Grin

Cheers

Nico

-Fury: very beautiful aircraft (and biplane, which I love). In WWII used only in East Africa against Italian I think. Not very useful at the moment...
-Skua: very useful for some RN campaigns and missions. Very hard to survive in it.
-Karas: useful for Poland campaign that lasted only a few weeks....
-Reggiane 2000: limited use for Italian campaigns, but plenty of action for Hungarian ones from 1942 until the very end. With this plane we can have 1942 Hungarian campaigns (wich we have not). Also we can use it as a "Severski P-35 hack" in Philippines....
So, I like all of them, but my vote goes for the Reggiane.

Since there are so few biplanes in the game, I voted for the Hawker Fury. It would also be a good plane to hack into various biplane skins - I can't help but think of Spanish Civil War aircraft ...

Porcorosso, the Fury we are talking about is a biplane pre-war fighter. Your desciption is about the Typhoon, not the Fury

I would like De Havlliand Vampire to be the next! Smile Just wishes from Norway. We have two flying Vampires here. A friend of mine knows one of the pilots real well! Could you add Vampire as an option? Wink

- highlander_262 - 26.02.2009

PR - someone already has that beast on here as a WIP

FM - Struggling to find decent drawings of a Vampire F.1 , they all seem to be FB.9's

- VT-51_Razor - 26.02.2009

Anything with a hook on it gets my vote!
