Corsair Whistling Death - GhostFiles - 27.02.2009

New Sound Files for the Corsair

Whistling Death (External)
Based on Utube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQxb-V-rZqA

Dive Sounds @350mph. Dive Sounds (from Radiator Vents) come in about 350mph (563KPH), and is based on my conversation with F4U Pilot Dan Dameo of Sky Boss #555, Long Island Museum.

Engine sounds from CFS2

Unfortunately, all Pratt 2800 Series are changed.

where do I have to put the .prs file ?

EDIT : Stupid Question, have overseen that this is the presets file

Hmm, the P 47 uses this engine too, right ?

so it would be realistic for me to use this sounds also for the P47 ?!?!

P47 - GhostFiles - 01.03.2009

NO. Any plane using the Pratt-Whitney 2800 series engine. The P47 uses a different sound set, and is much louder.

If you have ever flown in a Warbird, the engine is not all that loud.

- Steel - 03.03.2009

Sorry, dont understand what you mean

P-47 - GhostFiles - 03.03.2009

I've been working with 408mods, and the P-47 uses a different sound set (wav) files.

So if you get the Whispering Death, it will not affect the P-47 (408m).

Yes I know Big Grin

But I have renamed your file an overwrite the stock P47 sound with it
But the whistle is sadly not right

Maybe you could create a R-2600 P47 Sound ?!?

- Dietz - 03.03.2009

Got new engine sounds fine...but ( stupid question) where do Corsair "Dive sounds "install?
Thanx! Big Grin

Dive-Radiator Sound - GhostFiles - 03.03.2009

1.wav and x1.wav _> Files/Samples folder.

The P47 Sound is R2800TB

i can't figure out how to install this for the life of me.

firstly, my "MODS" file contains no "files" folder. it is a folder on its own next to MODS. the "samples" in that one seem to only be the new motor sounds from the SFX_0_6 i downloaded. all of those sounds work ingame.

so i extracted the .wav and .prs files into their respective "samples" and "presets" (no file called "tyre-screech") in the "Files" folder, which is outside of the "MODS" files. i assumed thats how you do it, but i still get lawn-mower sounds for my corsairs.

when that failed (as i kinda thought it would), i went looking for the original pratt an whitney 2800 sounds that were installed default with the game to manually replace them, but i simply can't find any of the original motor sounds anywhere. where are they kept?

am i missing something? i would really love my death to whistle. it kind of sucks that that kick ass sounds mod didn't have any corsair sound replacements.
