Racing utilities - Vanilla - 16.03.2009

Is anyone involved in racing mods? For example, a mod to start the clock when you enter through a certain gate, to check that you are in knife position, to stop the time when you exit etc. - basically to automate the racing measurements - time, penalties etc.

Well, i'd be interested in starting something like this. I suppose public discussions about how to do it are not allowed. On the other hand, mods such as that for better AI already exist, so ...
If anyone can help me privately with info, pls send me a PM. I do have programming skills.
