IN NEED OF URGENT HELP! - JetlinerXPilotXFSX - 23.03.2009

 So I have IL2 1946, and I have tryied to install a Mad Pack with a buch of mods, it would open, load to 5% then frezze and crash. It never would work after that again, so I had to reinstall. After my efforts in revival of my IL2 I got it up and running! Big Grin Then, I payed it no problem with NO mods or add ons what so ever. Then me and my friend went on an add on hunt. I got the Sound Mod, Wrapper, and AC mods, I also got a smoke mod, turned 4.08 mods on, and opened IL2. Loaded to 5% and CRASHED!
I am littraly 2 more trys away from snapping my computer in half and chucking off a building. I dont want to do that considering its an Asus Gaming Laptop with a nVidea 9600M.

I really need the AAA's help on this. Please help.

I had problems doing the mods as you.

First I make a clean install of the IL2 1946

Next I upgrade it to 4.08

Next I make a copy of it in the same folder.

Then I do the UI 1.1 and the 1.1.1exe

This way if I screw up I just delete the messed up version, make another copy of the 4.08 and start over.

Voila! that works.

It isn't that the MODS do not work. I am sure they do, but honestly there are plenty of mod devs that can do wonders with code, but cannot explain zip.

You have to read darn near every posting in a thread about a mod, because the dev won't go back to the first post in the thread an update it regularly.(some do) I've found the answer to my mod installs buried deep in discussions.

The installer works. I think it is overkill, and it would be so much better if we had a bunch of checkboxes for selecting what we want and only install those items. Also, we could go back later and remove or install other things. In other words a flexible installer would be a great help.

I've got stuff in my install that I never will use as long as I stay in the Pacific. I will be doing only the SLOT for probably the rest of the year.
