Overwhelmed... Help please - Rabble - 27.03.2009
Wow.
Some amazing stuff here.
I'm a little overwhelmed by it all though, and reading through the threads can result in mass confusion...
hock: Looking for some advice...
I've downloaded and installed the AAA Unified Installer. No problems with it at all.
I love the 6DoF for my TrackIR4. Are there any profiles I should try for it? I had to disable the (z?) axis that moves you closer to the intrument panel as I like to fly in wide view and it switching to zoom when I look to the rear was driving me nuts.
Now, what else should I have?
I'm concentrating on the F4F (3 & 4) and eventually the F4U. I'm also really fond of the P-40, P-47, P-51 and am considering a campaign in the SBD.
Guess I'm looking for reccomendations for cockpits, skins, smoke, effects.......???? maybe ground ?
Following instructions on tweaking the graphics from a thread here have IL-2 looking awesome. (I think they called it "Perfect")
thanks in advance.

Gidday mate,
There are some extra visual mods and stuff but if you have the UI 1.1 most of what you need you already have but some may not be enabled. Check in your program files/ubisoft/IL-2 Sturmovik 1946/MOD folder, any files with a " - " infront are disabled. If you take the - away they'll work. Probably pay to take note of which ones you change incase afterwards you notice a FPS loss and want to put the - back in to disable them again. PropTex for example will make your propellers look better but from memory is off by default (will look like -PropTex)

Thanks William,
Your memory does you proud, that one was disabled. I'll give it a try.
thought I'd check out that smoke mod I was reading about, but think I'll take your advice and activate one at a time.

If you do get anotheror mabey your first smoke mod, make sure you only enable one at a time. Similar mods, whether it's multiple smoke or multiple gunfire, will conflict with one another. Normally to the point neither will work at all.
