Should I buy TrackIR???? - Davis0079 - 28.03.2009

Is trackIR worth the $129 their asking and does anyone know of a better price?

- GeneralPsycho - 28.03.2009

It is worth 500$ so yes, it is way worth it

I never go out my house without trackIR4, the best thing i buy in 2005... and buy to my son in 2007.

- Fay King - 28.03.2009

Yes HELL YES! You will never look back, no pun intended.

TIR 4 is worth evry penny.

You dont need the clip.. just the unit and the hat thing will do fine. There is a rebate for $10 which will bring you to $120.. but again.. TIR is in my opinion an essential piece of hardware for any simmer who is more than a casual simmer, or can afford to drop the cash... Once you get used to it you will not want to fly without it.

above all things, Track IR is very strongly built and so life is very long. Big Grin
while I use one track IR, I have changed joysticks three times due to broken.. and track IR is still strong. Big Grin

I've been using Free track

It's free except you have to make a little headgear thingy.

I used IR LEDs in mine (like in TV remotes) so I don't have to worry about lighting at any time, bright or low lighting.

My understanding is TrackIR glitches if you are in a bright or well lighted situation.

Don't really know much about trackIR, but I like to run the IL2 in a sunlight bright room.

You can correct me in I'm wrong.

- JAMF - 28.03.2009

You can adjust TrackIR for the environment. Someone said he can even smoke while flying. Big Grin (Intense IR source)

- Stratodog - 28.03.2009

Yes, yes, yes. Well worth the price.

- Snuff_Pidgeon - 29.03.2009

When TrackIR 3 Pro came out several years ago I paid the premium price and bought it along with the Vector Expansion so that I could have 6 DOF movement. It's one of the few things that I have ever bought that I never regretted. I will not fly without it and I will not consider loading a sim that doesn't support it. Yes, it's that good. The TIR 4 is supposed to be even better.

Trackir makes it so much more realistic.

And you can keep your hands on the controls at any time. Yes, you need to get used to it but when you are used to it you cannot without it

Yes, you should!Smile
