Bug in English CHannel. - Warbird_242 - 01.04.2009
Hello everyone
I the FMB, I can enter descriptions, names and short descriptions, but they don't come up when I start the mission. This happened in the English Channel map. I was wondering if this is a problem with me or the installer.
Everything else seems to be working fine, and thumbs up for a great mod!
Your sincerely,
Warbird.

Check in your directory where the mission is and look for your mission files.
There should be 2 files, one is a Properties file.
The other is the mission file.
You probably have 2 properties files though. Rename the properties file without the _RU in it (Adding the _RU and you should be able to see your briefing.
Here is an example of what you may be seeing in the directory....
ie. my_mission.mis
my_mission.properties (there may be an additional properties file with _RU in it.)
my_mission_RU.properties
If you are seeing the above, delete the my_mission.properties file.
That should get you seeing the briefing.

Thankyou very much for the speedy reply.
That has sorted it!
Thanks a bunch!
And while your at it (sorry to bother you again), in one mission I have set up a Stuka bombing raid on a radar station. I have several waypoints right next to each other - of distances of about 50 feet. From each of these waypoints I have "set" a oil drum or building etc. When I fly the mission ( me in a spit attacking these stukas) they don't attack, rather just turn onto my next waypoints for them. They fly along the route of the attack fine, but just don't attack. Is this because the waypoints are so close together before they attack, they are sent onto the next target etc.. or is this another bug???
Sorry for that long winded description, but I hope it's worth it.
Once again thanks.

The attack aircraft from which altitudes ?
For Stukas it is better that they arrive at 3000m.
Sorry for my english !

Ok thanks for the tip. I did have them attacking from 500m, but when I changed it to 3000, used just one GR Attack waypoint with a target set as a train car(static) and put the waypoint about a mile back to give the AI time to start the dive, the formation just overflys and heads for home.
Any Ideas???
Thanks

Actually just discovered something
I set the target for the Stukas, then save. If I quit, and reload the mission, the green target marker has dissapeared, and there is not target listed on the view>object>waypoint>targetset thing.
I tied a flight of spits to another(for formation) and that seemed to have saved fine. Haven't changed anything between then and now...
Still can't work it out!!!
Any Ideas again! lol

Instead of using the "Set" function for there target, set a waypoint at 2000-3000m alt about 5km before the target, then set another waypoint designated as "Ground Attack" and place it right over the target you want hit. Do not use the "Set" function.
That should get them hitting the mark.
After the attack make the next waypoint at an alt of 500m and about 10km from the attack target.
Try to keep all three of those waypoints in a fairly straight line.

Right, tried all that, but still no result - Stukas just overfly and don't drop anything. I tried it with some JU88's however, and that worked fine with no target set(just level bombing)....
But no Stukas!!! ARGHHHHHHHHH

I still can't save the target set commands... with all my amatuer knowledge i think that's the problem.
Any one have any suggestions?
