Is it at all possible to make a mod that enables you to have some sort of control over where you spawn on the field on a DF server?

It's really annoying to have squad mates spawning on the opposite side of the airfield.

You could try placing the home base in FMB, then draging it away from the airfield so that only the spawn area you want is inside the home base circle.
