Start-point from taxi-way - 5./KG53_Löwe - 11.04.2009
I'm trying to make a mission where the player is supposed to start from the taxi-way and taxi out to the runway. I've tried using "test runway 4" in stationary ships but every time I spawn I start on the runway.
Anyone who has an idea what I'm doing wrong?

for the take off waypoint, make sure you 'set' the waypoint to the test runway.
Will probably take some trial and error with the runway placement.
Oh and watch out for the bump, dont taxi too fast!!!

You could take the player aircraft and set it for T.O. to another airfield on the oppisite side of the map,
further away from where you want it the better. Then after setting it for TO at this far away runwat/airfield then simple pick it up and now move the aircraft to the taxiway on the airfield you want it to take off from.
Place your first airborn waypoint in the direction you want it to take of towards and next time you go to play the mission the aircraft will be at the airfields sitting exactly where you placed it and it will be facing the direction of your first airborne waypoint.
As a player you could taxi, but as AI they will take off from the exact spot you placed them as AI will not taxi for TO postition
This is a way to trick the FMB.
I believe there is a mod that reduces the airfield influence on the take off point but I am unsure of that myself.I know what I described works as I have used it many times for spawning inside a hanger ete

I've tried to use runway4 for taxiing purposes but there is a problem: the invisible runway is not at the same level of the surrounding ground so, when you enter the runway you usually break the undercarriage. EASYRIDER is right, at the following link
you will find a mod that reduces the radius of all airfields, allowing to start the mission where ever you want and then taxi to the runway.

I've made some very immersive missions with it, but it hold some problem too, the first of all being the fact that all mission designed without this mod don't work correctly if it is installed and active. You can temporary deactivate it if you want to fly a "normal mission".
Read carefully the posts at the link above, to fully understand how to use the mod in the best way: there are some tricks that are described to build your mission in an effective way.

Worked perfect with the mod. Thanks for the quick response!

Flashsim & Easyrider have the right answer. I use this mod (reduced airfield radius) to start off inside a hanger or sangar at the start of some missions. The only problem is that if you set AI in the mission to takeoff from airfields when this mod is active they start in flying formation and crash into buildings etc on take off.
The trick is to design your mission carefully, or alter downloaded missions. It is not a problem as I generally tend to start the "bandits" in the air anyway and place them so as to give me time to get airborne, but I really enjoy the realism that this mod gives you.
