Hurricane MkI / Spit MkI modification request - VonBarb. - 15.04.2009
Could someone please make it so that those two planes do
NOT use MAT roundels anymore with 'markings on' , at least when flown for the RAF ? Something that would be similar to MAT Manager's 'roundels off' option, but just for these two planes.
I'm guessing that would require some editing of the model itself ?
If it doesn't and I can do it myself, please just tell me how.
Those planes used early RAF roundels that the game doesn't have and it would be best if they were directly painted on the 'GB' skin.
That would be much apperciated, thanks.
edit : add the SpitVb to the list
.
Cheers

+1, I agree completely!
I've been requesting this for the corsair mk. 1 as well... but still no takers

I agree as well. Maybe the option to have another nation in the list-maybe GB early war? so that you could have a generic early war roundel set to use on these planes...?

Nah, there are A1 roundels (yellow rimmed ) in the default game but they are repeated on the underside of the wings as well, and that's a problem. Actually for many RAF planes there should be a different roundel type for fuselage, upper side of wings and undersides of wings.
The best way to achieve this is to have the roundels directly on the skin for these planes (seldom used by other armies besides UK anyway...)

Perhaps we can come up with a list of planes needing the same treatment ?
That list would include all planes mainly used by the RAF between the late 30s until mid-1942.
-Hurricanes (all marks except Mk.IID )
-Spitfire Mk.I
-Spitfire Mk.Vb (1941)
-Blenheims (all Marks)
-Tomahawks
-P-40E
-Buffalo
Possibly others.
I'm asking those who might know how this could be done. I'm offering to do the work provided you can show me the path. It must be feasable, as the USAAF example indicates : No roundels MATs on some planes (P-47s) but MATs roundels on others (Spitfires). However , flying under 'RAF', roundels MATs
will appear on the P-47s. That would tend to prove presence or not of roundels can be set for each airplane/nationality combo.
So what do I need to edit to make the same happen with the RAF ?
Cheers

I'd really like to see this done, seeing the yellow-trimmed roundels under my wings always irritates me and the colours on all of them seem too pale.
