I already had a topic about this. We concluded that we would be better off if some one made the version the allies made since it was actually used during the war.

Now that looks fun
Edit:
With all due respect, there were several aircraft that never flew that players can fly. I don't see why that should stop any one from making something like this.

We might need choppers for a hypothetical Korea project anyway...
I say go ahead and see what you can come up with.
I sense many sleepless nights and massive headaches coming your way if you're really serious about this
Cheers

What I want to know is if this could work in IL2? can the props be angled manually to pitch up and down?
- American - 19.04.2009
Well if you can fly the lerch you can fly a chopper right
- Tesla - 19.04.2009
That's because the elevators are directly below (behind) the prop. On a heli, it is not.

Could not disagree more!
I would have to conclude the German one is more important since they probably invented it first. Plus I think there is more interest from the community for this one.

What could you do with a helicopter? There arent any passengers boarding in IL2. I would love to do a rescue mission with this if possible.

Yea but the Allied copter was really the first mass produced Helicopter and was used more often in more places. It also one of the first to incorporate the modern design of helicopters.
According to wiki about 11 fa's were made
the allies build about 10 times more of the R-4
+ the design of the f4 look;s pretty stright forward so it;s easier to make.
i say lets go with the R-4. But if some one wanted to pick up on the FA i wouln't mind either.
BTW telsa i was referring more to Flight models..
911. You can set up a mission ion Il2 to seem like a rescue mission. i attempted this with a b-25 before.

If time allows me, I may model both.
Can someone link me to some references please?

I agree with american, as long as the model uses the characteristics of the Lerche on take off and landing, you should be good. This aircraft only went between 110 and 120 kmph.

Hope these help.

Can you also do a bit for the s-4?
- Reisenkaze - 19.04.2009
Everything I've found for the S-4 so far are in the 50's. Nothing from WWII so far. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong aircraft?
