F4U-4? - Murph - 21.04.2009
I could be mistaken, but I check this site quite often and cannot recall seeing a request for this late model Corsair. It was introduced in late 1944 and served through the end of WWII and into the Korean Conflict as well.
It had much better performance than earlier versions of the F4U, and since we have lots of late model German planes and Spits (which I'm very pleased with) would anyone be interested in modeling this great historic aircraft?
Thanks for considering this.

I found a few posts that mention the F4U-4
viewtopic.php?t=1635&highlight=f4u4
viewtopic.php?t=1816&highlight=f4u4
and the last post in
(The link is inoperative)
But no full request for a F4U-4 and I've always wanted one too.
Thanks for starting this post.

Yes, thank you. Those posts all seem to be from the "frankenplane" era.
Now that it's possible to actually import models and create new FMs it would be nice to see someone take this up. That way we can have a match for some of the late model Japanese planes (which I'm also glad to see).

Looks like this is going to slide into oblivion...

I would love to see this corsair, then again; I wouldnt mind having a super corsair either

It looks like we'll be getting the Super Stuka before that happens.

We really need the F4U-4, especially once the Korea map is released. The -4 made its combat debut during the battle for Okinawa and remained as the front line fighter-bomber with the USN and USMC through the Korean war.

Get me some 1 who will make the new slot and edit the fm and i will do it for you. This isn't a complicated one.

American, I imagine you have a lot on your plate right now, but would you consider doing the modeling, on the "if you build it, they will come" theory?

Put me down for the F4U-4, been wanting one of these for Pacific Fighers for years now. I made a request recently under the Allied Historical Aircraft Requests in this forum.
Also would like to see the cannon armed variant F4U-4B and or -C

Info on Corsair variants - Aymar_Mauri - 29.04.2009
I'm also a supporter of this project. If people would like, I can provide some info and schematics about the different Corsair variants.
I would also suggest a F4U5 (a bit late for WW2) and a F2G2 (cancelled production), because they are very interesting planes. A Wasp Major engined fighter would be a really interesting prospect.
So, shall I post the Corsair variants info?

How about it, American? Are you too busy to do anything with this yet? Thanks for considering it.

I have collected a good supply of photos and such of the -4, a reprint of the pilot's manual for the F4U-4 (December, 1944 version, does not cover the cannon armed -4B), and a fair bit of knowledge about the Corsair (I've been a fan of and a researcher of the Corsair since 1977). I don't know how to 3D model or write flight models, but I can provide information and data, if anyone needs such.
