After reading the thread about under water, I wanted to know if it would be possible to mod a, lets say, PBN program to look like a PT boat and not take off? It would need different cockpit and gunner scenes but if this could be done someone could man this ship and do anti aircraft missions. The AI gunners would act just like in the air and shoot at incomming planes.
Just a thought, probably cant be done but if someone could figure this out it might be a cool addition to IL2.

While you're at it make the gunner station mannable like in a bomber? Then you could fire cannon and shoot torpedoes, navigate and be a general pain to the opposing force! I LIKE IT!

This was done about nearly 2 yrs ago..... Hellzone made one but never quite finished it, he also had a carrier that he was working on to try and get people to land on that and use it as a respawn point in dogfights.
Possibility of this mod happening: Small, most modders are working hard on other planes which are generally the priority, boats come later etc...
But, if you really want it I suggest you give Hellzone a call and maybe he may just finish it :wink:
BTW hellzone if you are reading this I still have the files if you want them...

I dont think torpedo runs would work as you release them on the water they blow up

they wouldn't blow up if u release it into the water, there is no difference from doing that then dropping them from an H8K1 when your sitting in the water....

Sorry I may have made a mistake, now that I think of it they probably do blow up but if you are at speed on the water and drop them they won't...
