Don Beerbower is one of my all time heroes, he's also from Minnesota. I've met his wife she's a real nice gal. BTW, Bonnie B is his daughter that he only met - I think twice - before he was KIA.

What is a fillet?
Do you guys mean that dorsal "fin" that goes from the back of the fuselage to the tail, to improve stability?

Yes, that's it, the extended rudder. Instead of being at nearly a 100 degree angle from the front of the rudder to the fuselage on earlier P51's, the rudder is "filleted" to about a 10 degree angle. It's to increase the surface area of the rudder and whatnot.
