Grand Canyon QMB Mission Pack - Eldon45 - 29.04.2009
Here's a full set of missions (6 allied, 6 axis) for viking4570's Grand Canyon map.
As of now, the map is still in the WIP section of the maps area at AAA.

Thank you, viking4570, for a unique and fun map!

These are great missions Eldon. Planes, trains and automobiles (and ships woo-hoo!).
Thanks.
There is one small problem with the ship attack mission though, one that can't be overcome if I understand the map process so not a complaint.
Lake Mead is some 1700 feet above sea level on this map. However it's hard to judge where the water level is. As a result I plowed into the water. LOL! And becuase of this game anomoly ships appear to float in mid air:
However this is a minor issue. The rest of the missions are very, very good. I highly recommend this QMB pack.

I noticed this effect when I was making the map, and toyed with just doing away with the lake altogether as a result. I don't know what causes this, or if it can be fixed. Anyone? -viking

I think it has to do with the fact that all water is at sea level....0 feet/meters. I've seen this effect on the Desert Online map and the Slovakia map. It's the way to game engine works.
You can deform the land to meet it but in the case of Lake Mead that would put the lake into the biggest well on earth.
hock:
Like I said, except for attacking ships on the lake it looks fine from the air. Even the ships look fine as long as you don't get too low.
Personally I'm glad you included the lake. It adds to the realism of the map.
Now, who wants to make the necessary objects for Hoover Dam?
