Modellers looking for FM work done - vanir - 30.04.2009
I need mesh modeller interest in the P-40 and Ta152 projects...so I figured I've heard some mesh modellers are awaiting FM modellers to be freed up from their current projects, and thought we could help each other.
I've solid mechanical background and only require good reference material to work with. Oleg did a pretty good job with the game engine for flight modelling to start with as far as I've been discovering.
Any takers please PM me and we can exchange email addresses and get to work.

I wish I could help. I've started learning 3DS and had success in editing single subgroup models, but still can't multiple subgroup models into game. Depending on how Muas and Karaya are going though, I might need a hand with some FMs for some of the aircraft I'm working on.

Well,we don't need to change how the model looks...all we need is adding and removing hook's for external devices and bombs...at least for now

I could help in regard to 3D since I have experience with 3DS MAX (although I have no experience making meshes for IL2) and FM, but for this last one I would need a few pointers regarding the IL2 files. Also, since I'm upgrading/reinstalling my system on the next week, I cannot start working in this before the middle of May at best.

Is that it? If so, that could be done easily, and probably take 10 minutes...

Magpie, who can I approach about doing FM changes for the F4U-4? American says he can do the 3D if we can get someone on board to do the FM and slot.
Thanks in advance if you can help with this- a PM would be fine.

..really?...how?...

Vanir, try to contact American, he may need some FM help for the F4UB, and you can help him, then maybe he can help you with your meshes

By importing the section, adding the hook, linking the hook, exporting the section... Simple. Hooks are very simple, and hard to stuff up - if you get the name right.
I suggest, do not cut corners, learn the way the rest of us have. Read the Il2 modelling bible, pull a model out of the game and pull it to bits, learn what is in them.
If you're desperate to cut corners, google "DUMMY OBJECTS"...
