[MOD REQUEST] Realistic Cargo and Craft Dropping - mavyalex - 01.05.2009

Hello,

Cargo crates don't drop very realistically in the game and I think it would be better to have a dropping ramp like on modern planes. (do you understand what I mean?)I guess the British had such devices during WWII (ramps). Special forces used these ramps too I'm pretty sure instead of dropping from the airplane side exits.
Also the cargo with the parachutes doesn't drop adequately (it drops like humans with parachites).
Normally the crates touch the ground at a higher speed and have different trajectories...

It would be nice to program this so that supplies would be harder to drop to support troops near the border (if the crates fall in enemy territory then it is lost , like in real war)

Next phase would be to see dummies falling down on enemy territories just like allied troops dropped dummy soldiers on the Germans in Normandy just before D-day...

Actually you're wrong. They did just push things out of doors or small hatches. Large ramps are a modern design.

HundertzehnGustav Wrote:LOL wha aircraft besides the Ju-252/352 had a ramp at the rear?

Only other one I can think of that might of bin around is the C-82 Packet.

Other then that there was Hamilcar.

Didn't the Russians use the TB-3 as a cargo plane, swear I remember seeing a photo with a tank slung underneath and paratroop jumping out of the gun turrets.

Ju 252
Ju-352
Ju290

All had large ramps. It's too bad we don't have those in the sim.

The ramps could be lowered in-flight, and they also could raise the rear of the aircraft up& you could drive cargo in.

Also, itd be nice to have a supply drop for the ju-52, with its own model.
I cant find a picture of it atm, but it looks kinda like a torpedo with doors on it.
Maybe a new slot for the ju-52, supply, light AT cannon, or for the Spanish Civil War fans a dustbin bomber position. Big Grin
