[BETA] New seasons for Canon_UK's BETA Channel map - GilB57 - 05.05.2009



Here it is : a beta seasons pack for a (great) beta map :wink:

DOWNLOAD:

2 NEW MAPS: Channel Winter et Channel Spring.

To be carefull , BEFORE installation, save the content of your MODS/MAPMODS/maps/_Tex folder

Unzip in your game folder.

Add in your maps/all.ini file:
409_GW_Channel_spring CAN_Channel/CAN_spring_load.ini
409_GW_Channel_winter CAN_Channel/CAN_winter_load.ini

FEATURES:
-optionnal New radar towers (xxxload.ini)
-corrected map borders (heights & texs)
-reduced number of trees in water :wink:

ATTENTION : REQUIRED INSTALLED AND FUNCTIONNAL:

-Canon_UK CHANNEL Beta Map ( http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5332 )

-GW winter map pack ( http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11498 )

-New radar tower objects (or UI 1.1) for new radar tower option.

Hi, nice addons!

I've been looking for insperation for a while now to get the beta map looking how i wanted it to. With lots of help from your load.ini's and some of the reworked textures i now have it looking 98% perfect, lol.





My one problem is trees though....

I reallly like your new darker trees, but they don't really match the forests. What i want to achive is a forest that matchs your new spring trees,

normal trees and normal forest,



Your great trees and normal forest



Your trees and the changed forest in your tex/load.ini



What i really want is a forest that matchs your trees, that would complete this beta for me,

Now the question, how do i go about doing that, any ideas?

HI EVERY ONE
In the download file it s write to put this 2 line in the all.ini:

409_GW_Channel_spring CAN_Channel/CAN_spring_load.ini
409_GW_Channel_winter CAN_Channel/CAN_winter_load.ini

but it s write someting else on the top post ???

409_English_Channel_spring CAN_Channel/CAN_spring_load.ini
409_English_Channel_winter CAN_Channel/CAN_winter_load.ini

...hmmm, this not so easy as the trees & forests are not built the same way .

You may try this : A few lines to replace :

At the end of the .ini file :

Wood0 = forest/summer/forestGr.tga

At the beginning :

Wood0 = forest/summer/Wood0.tga
Wood1 = forest/summer/Wood1.tga
Wood2 = forest/summer/Wood3.tga
Wood3 = forest/summer/Wood1.tga
Wood4 = forest/summer/Wood2.tga

... or play around with Wood0.tga, Wood1.tga, Wood2.tga, Wood3.tga, Wood4.tga which have different colors.

.... not perfect but maybe better ?
Anyway, it doesn't appear the same, depending on the viewing angle and also the light angle... :roll:
